Christ Oil
A quiet companion for the monthly Christ oil cycle. It tells you when the Moon enters your sun sign, walks you through what happens in the body, and keeps a private log, all on your iPhone.
Coming soon to the App Store · iPhone“Every month in the life of every man or woman, when the moon is in the sign that the sun was in at the birth of the individual, there is a psycho-physical seed or ‘Son of Man’ born in the Solar Plexus.”
George W. Carey, The Wonders of the Human Body (1918)
What it does
Your window, exactly
From your birth date, time and place, Christ Oil works out your sun sign and every time the Moon passes through it, to the minute, with the preparing days before and the three pineal days after.
Today, at a glance
A sky ring shows where the Moon is now and how far it is from your sign, with the stage you're in and how long it lasts. A lock-screen and home-screen widget shows the same.
The body map
Follow the journey step by step: the oil down the two nerves, the seed born in the manger and rising up the spine, and the fire that lights the lamp. Told in Carey's own words, with notes on the language, the anatomy and the later teachers.
A private log
Optionally log releases and see which cycles you kept, with a streak. No guilt, no scores to fail: it's there for your own practice.
Calendar and reminders
Reminders before and during each window, and an optional “Christ Oil” calendar with every window for the years ahead.
For women too
Carey wrote that the seed is born in “every man or woman.” If you choose, Christ Oil can show your period from Apple Health beside the Moon's cycle. Read-only, and off unless you turn it on.
Private by design
No accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your birth details and log stay on your iPhone, and Christ Oil has no servers. Everything is free; optional tips add a few cosmetic touches. Read the privacy policy.
