Christ Oil finds your sun sign from your birth date, time and place, then calculates when the Moon enters and leaves that sign each month. The Moon's position is computed on your iPhone; the method was checked against NASA's JPL Horizons data.

Usually not. It only matters if you were born on a day the Sun changed signs. Without a time Christ Oil uses noon, and you can add the time later in Settings.

Preparing: the three days before the Moon reaches your sign. Seed: the Moon in your sign, about two and a half days. Pineal: the three days after it leaves, Carey's “three days in the tomb.” Between cycles: the rest of the month.

These set which days count for your log. Window only protects the Moon-in-sign days; Full journey adds the three pineal days, the closest reading of Carey; Continuous counts every day. You can change it any time in Settings.

No, not on Window only or Full journey. A cycle only counts as broken if a release falls inside its protected days. On Continuous, every day counts.

Yes. In Settings, choose what counts as a release, or turn the log off entirely; that also hides History. Anything already logged is kept unless you erase it.

Settings › Erase all data removes your profile and log from the iPhone. If you turned on the calendar, delete the “Christ Oil” calendar in the Calendar app. Deleting the app removes everything else.

Turn on Settings › Cycle tracking › Show my period, and allow Christ Oil to read Menstrual Flow in Apple Health. Your periods appear on the sky ring and the cycle timeline, with the next one predicted. Christ Oil never writes to Apple Health, and doesn't save or send what it reads. To stop, turn the setting off, or remove access in the Health app under Sharing › Apps.

The calendar is written when you tap Add to Calendar, or Update Calendar, in Christ Oil's Settings. Tap Update Calendar after changing your birth details or the years ahead. If it fails, check that calendar access is allowed in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars.

Touch and hold the Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit or Customize, then add Christ Oil from the widget list.

No. Every feature is free. Becoming a supporter, or any tip, adds cosmetic rewards: a lit lamp, a gold sky ring, three extra app icons and the Anointed seal.

Open Settings › Support › Keep the lamp lit and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID. The one-time Supporter purchase is also shared with your Family Sharing group.
