Privacy Policy
This policy covers Christ Oil for iPhone and its widgets, made by Spiral Ocean. Last updated: November 8, 2026.
In short
Christ Oil doesn't collect anything about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no ads, and Christ Oil has no servers. What you enter stays on your iPhone.
What stays on your iPhone
| Birth details | Your birth date, time and place, used to find your sun sign. Stored only on your iPhone, shared with the app's own widgets. |
|---|---|
| Release log | Optional. The dates you log and any note. Stored only on your iPhone. You can turn the log off, and Settings › Erase all data removes it. |
| Moon calculations | Computed on the device. Christ Oil makes no network requests to work out your windows. |
| Notifications | Scheduled on the device. Nothing is sent to a server to deliver them. |
| Face ID | Optional lock. Handled entirely by iOS; Christ Oil never sees your face data. |
Apple Health
Only if you turn on Show my period, Christ Oil asks to read Menstrual Flow from Apple Health. It uses those dates to show your periods beside the Moon's cycle and to estimate the next one.
- Read-only: Christ Oil never writes to Apple Health.
- Not stored: the data is read fresh when the app opens and kept only in memory.
- Never shared: it isn't sent anywhere, used for advertising or given to anyone.
You can turn the setting off, or remove access in the Health app under Sharing › Apps › Christ Oil.
Calendar
If you turn it on, Christ Oil creates a calendar named “Christ Oil” and adds your windows to it. It only writes to that calendar and doesn't read your other events. If your calendars sync through iCloud or another account, that calendar syncs with them like any other.
Purchases
Tips and the Supporter purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store. Christ Oil receives only confirmation of what was bought, to unlock the rewards; it never sees your payment details.
Links
The app links to a few outside pages, such as the scanned book on HathiTrust. Those open in your browser and are covered by their own privacy policies.
Children
Christ Oil isn't directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
